Dental Crowns

A crown acts as a cap over an existing tooth and is custom made for each patient. Crowns are designed to restore the shape and strength of a tooth to restore its look and function. Crowns can also be created to cover a dental implant or multiple implants.

When a Crown Makes Sense

  • Your tooth is chipped or uneven, although it is otherwise functional.
  • Your tooth is darker than the rest of your teeth, which makes it stand out.
  • Your tooth has a deep cavity that spans across much of the above-gum part of the tooth.
  • Your tooth is stained.
  • Your tooth has white spots or speckles.
  • Your tooth is strong, but needs more support to avoid damage.

The Architectural Structure of a Dental Bridge

A dental bridge uses two or more crowns and a pontic, or false tooth, to fill the gap left by a missing tooth. The crowns attach to the adjacent teeth on either side of the gap for a secure fit. In order to prepare the mouth for a bridge, Dr. Adrian Avram may shave down the teeth that will hold the dental crowns. The actual procedure can take place in one visit, although a prior consultation and exam is necessary to create the bridge and make arrangements.

With Dental Bridges You Can:

  • Stop natural teeth from drifting and shifting into the empty gap.
  • Replace missing teeth or a missing tooth.
  • Complete your smile.
  • Stop struggling to speak clearly.
  • Enjoy the ability to eat the foods you like.
